Feature Request: zoom / larger text for web page captures in Zotero iOS

Taking webpage snapshots with Zotero is a fantastic feature, and I rely on it heavily. I also really appreciate that on my mac I can zoom in on a web snapshot to enlarge the font. I really wish I could also zoom in on a web capture to enlarge the font on the iOS app—my poor vision makes reading web snapshots on my iPhone extremely difficult. Would it be possible to add some kind of text-size control in the iOS app?

I would really appreciate if a developer would respond to this—even if just to share that if this is actually really hard to implement for some reason. It would be really nice to know roughly how likely this is to ever be implemented.

Hi, sorry for late response. You can already do two finger pinch to zoom in on snapshots (and epubs and pdfs for that matter). If it doesn't work for you on some snapshot, let us know. However this zoom is not persistent throughout documents, so if you zoom in on one document, the next one doesn't appear zoomed in.

@michalrentka Thank you for your response. First of all, pinching and zooming on iOS snapshots doesn't work for me at all.

And just in case you misunderstood what I'm asking for—I don't want to zoom in like I would on a pdf where I zoom in on a certain section of the document—I want to increase the font size of the entire text in the snapshot like I can for Zotero snapshots on a mac.

That's exactly what pinching does. What version of the iOS app do you have (visible at the bottom of the app settings), and what's the URL of a snapshot you're trying on?

@dstillman Okay, thank you for clarifying. I have Zotero 2.0.0. After trying this on more snapshots, what I've realized is that it does work for some of them, but I hadn't noticed that since many of my snapshots are from Substack, and it doesn't work for those (e.g. https://www.henrikkarlsson.xyz/p/perceptive?utm_campaign=post&triedRedirect=true). I don't understand why I can't pinch and zoom for these snapshots from Substack, since I can increase the font size for them on the mac app.

Thanks, I can reproduce that issue for Substack snapshots. We'll fix. (Zooming in the Zotero desktop app is implemented differently.)

@AbeJellinek Thank you so much. The one other website I've noticed Zotero snapshots not working very well with (I can't increase font size on Mac or iOS while still seeing the entire line in frame) is archive.ph (e.g. https://archive.ph/n8eHz). But perhaps I should start a new discussion about that?
