Bug Report ID: 422106743

The “Add a Citation” feature works fine, but the “Add a Bibliography” button doesn’t seem to respond. Previously, the “Add Bibliography” function worked normally. In my case, I still need to manually select items from the library one by one to generate it. From tutorials and friends’ experiences, the “Add Citation” feature is used to insert references, and then clicking “Generate Bibliography” automatically produces all the cited references at once, whether it’s a few dozen or several hundred entries. My file is very small, but I’ve been waiting for a long time, and the bibliography still doesn’t appear.
  • What word processor?

Can you restart Zotero and provide a Debug ID for clicking Add/Edit Bibliography and waiting a few minutes?
  • Thanks!!!! Restarting Zotero works. But I wonder, say, for example, I’ve inserted multiple in-text citations throughout my manuscript (around 20 so far), but I want to generate the 20 bibliography automatically rather than adding each reference manually which is currently needed. Ideally, I’d like to click a single button to generate both the citations in the text and the corresponding bibliography at the end of the document, instead of handling them separately. How can I do that?

I'm not sure what you mean by this. If you add a bibliography using the plugin, it automatically includes all the citations you've inserted into the document and stays updated as you add new citations. If you're seeing something else, delete the bibliography completely and insert it again.
  • I wish I could send a video! Could I?
  • You can post screenshots here or upload a video somewhere and provide a link.

But you should do what I suggest: delete the bibliography completely and reinsert it.
  • I’ve just realized the issue has been resolved — thank you so much for your kind help and patience!
I really appreciate your time and support.
