Editing Google Docs cites suddenly no longer working properly [1062722682]

edited yesterday at 4:59am
While I can still add citations using CTRL + ALT + C, I can' no longer edit them; I get only a link to https://www.zotero.org/google-docs/?9OfsLX (see image below), which informs me I should install the Zotero Connector—which I have installed, however.
Using: Zotero 7.0.23 (64-bit); Brave 1.81.135 (Official Build) (64-bit):Chromium: 139.0.7258.127; Linux 6.12.10-1.el9.elrepo.x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Not sure how to reproduce the problem, since it happened suddenly. Tried restart, delete cookies, log-off, all to no avail.
Thanks for any help!

Zotero > Add/edit citation... works to edit citation
  • Same problem here.

MacOS 15.6, Chrome Version 139.0.7258.128 (Official Build) (arm64), Zotero 7.0.23, Zotero Connector 5.0.180; also occurs in Safari.

I can reproduce this. This appears to be a change in Google Docs — it happens with older versions of the Zotero Connector as well.

We'll work on a fix. As @poettli says, you can still edit citations by going to the Zotero menu → Add/Edit Citation or by clicking on the Z button in the Google Docs toolbar.
  • We've fixed this in Zotero Connector 5.0.181, available now for Firefox and Safari (the latter via Zotero 7.0.24) and for Chrome and Edge once those versions are approved.
  • I have the same problem. When will the fix be live?
  • It's live in Firefox and Safari. Edge and Chrome depend on their respective app stores
