[solved] PDFs import from firefox connector doesn't work anymore
Hi, I have been using the firefox connector reliably for quite a long time, but since some time it doesn't work anymore (not sure what happened, maybe a firefox update?).
Typical setting:
- I open some pdf in firefox
- when I hover the mouse on the zotero connector, it shows "save as pdf"
- when I click however, it creates in zotero only a "web page", which doesn not even contain a snapshot nor retrieves any metadata, it just takes the url as title and puts as citation key "HttpsArxivorgPdfb"
it happens e.g. with all pdfs from arxiv (and I also have problems with the connector on many other websites). In case it helps: I run the connector while having the pdf opened for preview (with the embedded firefox pdf viewer).
Here is some debug log (I did 2 separated because I wasn't sure, one from zotero and one from the connector… but in both cases I just tried to save one single pdf, the same in both cases):
zotero: D230486951
zotero connector: D1999026029
Thanks in advance for any feedback, it's quite ennoying.

achataliThanks, I was confused because I did try "check for updates" in the firefox extensions pane and it said it was up to date. But indeed forcing installation from the zotero website worked, and the problem seems to be fixed.

dstillmanedited 6 days agoYes, at least in some situations, Firefox seems to not show any indication that new permissions are required (or that an extension isn't up-to-date because of it) in the Extensions pane itself, only at the top of the application menu.
