failure to refresh

I am writing my bachelor thesis and my university uses Chicago 17 but different capitalization rules. So i updated all of my sources in Zotero, thinking they would update my footnotes in my Word document as well, but this is not working. Zotero is updated to the latest version and i have refreshed Word and Zotero multiple times, as well as clicked the refresh button in my document. I know the footnotes are still linked to Zotero because they have a gray background when I click on them, but they refuse to update to the changed titles etc in Zotero, is there a way to fix this??
  • If you switch to a different style and then back to CMOS, does that work?

Also, what exact changes to the title did you make?
  • The changes were really just in the capitalization. For example: The Threepenny Opera -> The threepenny opera. I can change these manually in each footnote, but it will take a lot longer. As for changing the style - since ive already added some of the specific pages in the footnotes, im a bit scared these will disappear if I try to do this? Or will they not?

No, of you've entered them via the the plugin's pages functionality that will just work.
If you must, make a copy of the file and try there.

Also, you're doing the correct thing in storing your title in lower cases. You're aware of being able to right click >> sentence case?
  • Tried changing the style and back, didn't work either. And yes I've done it with sentence case before.
  • I'm not quite sure I understand -- have you modified the citation styles? Because otherwise Chicago Manual will always title case as per the manual, so what you're seeing is expected. If you don't want that, remove all instances of text-case="title" from the style, see
