How to exclude footnote/header when highlighting over two pages
Dear community,
is anone aware of a possibility to make Zotero PDF Reader exclude the footnote / header when one highlights a quote that expands over to pages? Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It seems to be depending on the PDF formatting; I have two PDF's of the same text, with one of them being highlightable as desired and the other one not.
In the iOS App "Voice Dream", there is the option to show the automatically recognized margins and set them manually if necessary (see attached screenshot). They do this to prevent the app from reading out loud page numbers and so forth. I would love to have the option to specify the margins in Zotero too, as I principally love the new feature to highlight over two pages and this would make this functionality way more usable. As long as there isn't a feature like that I would be super greatful for any information on how I can edit a PDF so that the highlighting option automatically excludes footnotes/headers.
Thank you so much for all the efforts you put into Zotero!
Daniel
PS: I use Zotero on Windows 11, version 7.0.10 (64-bit).

jb_redited 12 days agoI think that the automatic detection of margins (or, more generally, a "mask" that separates body text from any metatextual information also printed on the page) - especially if combined with the option to change the borders of this mask manually –would be a simple but powerful way to improve Zotero's annotation experience. I will cross-link this to another thread that concerns the same topic.
