problem upgrading to 2.0

Zotero error report ID: 1628121191
I followed instructions for upgrading:
I just backed up my files on an external drive.
Then I downloaded 2.0. When it came time to restart Firefox got above error report and told me post on the forums. I tried again on my own and got a new error report ID, exact same result.

    There aren't actually any Zotero errors in there, so we don't have much to go on. Restart your computer and try again.

    If it fails again, provide a Debug ID for the upgrade attempt using the "Enable after restart" option. You should still be able to get to the Zotero preferences via Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions -> Zotero -> Options.
  • hi. I finally had time to reload windows and all my software today. I downloaded the new zotero and put my old zotero files into the appropriate place. The result is exactly where I was last week (while copying I allowed the old sqlite and sqlit.bak files to replace the new and empty ones)
    --> error message 18986029
    --> cannot open zotero
    --> zotero has an exclamation mark over it

    OK, the upgrade error showed up that time.
    [QUERY: UPDATE itemData SET valueID=? WHERE valueID IN (?,?,?,?,?, [and so on...] [ERROR: too many SQL variables]
    You're actually the first to hit this error (which is due to an underlying database limit) since the relevant code was added in July 2008. I've added a workaround for it to the latest trunk XPI. Install that, perform the upgrade, and then after the upgrade switch back to the official version from the home page.

    You can disregard the warnings on that page—there are currently no changes from the official build in the dev XPI other than this fix.
  • Dear Dan,
    Thanks so much for helping me fix this. It worked on my laptop to get access to my old files. I am now using 2.0 to synch between two computers and hoping to get my zotero up and running again after letting it slip for many months.
