Chrome Support

Seems a far fetched request but with Firefox becoming the CPU hog I keep hearing of more and more people switching to Chrome. I haven't even looked if there is anything even remotely like a compatibility layer between the two but it would be fantastic to see Zotero abstracted to work in other browsers, particularly Chrome.

This also because I'd love a mobile version of Zotero and Chrome is the browser on my Google Android phone.

Hmm, I found this through a Google search from a year ago. Unfortunately the site search at the top of the Zotero page finds zero hits for the word 'Chrome'.

Wonder about an update to this? (Oddly when you type a search into the Zotero's Search feature at the top of the site you get taken to a blank page where you have to do your search again except this time on 3 separate areas of the site).
  • I would be very surprised to see Chrome support anytime soon, if ever.

Typing "chrome" into the search box returns that page as the first result for me. Do you have JS disabled? (I personally don't think the site search should require JS, but it does, at the moment.)
  • There is no compatibility layer between the two. Any Chrome-compatible version of Zotero would be a completely separate app, and, barring huge advances in the Chrome extensions API, it would be much more limited in functionality.

yeah - the devs have consistently said it's not going to happen - the underlying structure is too different, even though Chrome now at least allows plugins. This is not going to happen.

Which search are you using? If you use the search bar at the top of the forum that should work and does for me. First two results for chrome:

edit: oops - everyone's favorite question
