    Just tried to update zotero to 2.0b5 on new update of firefox 3.5 (I'm on Mac OS X 10.5.7) but got this message:

    Thought I saw someone on windows with a similar kind of error, but apparently not.

    Thanks -- this link helped me resolve it. It seems that the issue was having installed an earlier version of the 1.5 beta (which never worked for me -- it was really an alpha), un-installed it, re-installed 1.0 and used it for a number of months, and then just yesterday attempting to install 2.0.

    All I had to do was delete the firefox preferences, move my library somewhere else, deinstall 1.0, then install 2.0, then put the old library back where it belonged, then restart Firefox whereupon it successfully converted the library and everything worked just fine.
