AGU Journals translator - problems?
Hi All,
I've been having problems with the AGU Journals translator. I'm running Firefox 3.0.10 on Red Hat Linux, with Zotero 1.0.10. The only other extension I have running is the GMail Notifier (0.6.3.11) - disabling this does not solve the problem.
I notice two problems:
1) For the abstract page of a journal article, only some information is saved by the translator. An example article is:
http://www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/2009/2009GL038110.shtml
In this case, the article title, authors, date, and journal abbreviation are captured correctly, but nothing else is (i.e. no abstract, volume, journal name, page numbers, etc).
2) In the case of the full article page, the translator fails completely. The example page corresponding to the article above is:
http://www.agu.org/journals/gl/gl0912/2009GL038110/
I'd be grateful if anyone could shed light on this problem.
Please note that I can reproduce the problem on my Windows machine too (XP, Firefox 3.0.11, Zotero 1.0.10)
Thanks,

This is an old discussion that has not been active in a long time. Instead of commenting here, you should start a new discussion. If you think the content of this discussion is still relevant, you can link to it from your new discussion.
As you say, the journal abbreviation is stored, but the full journal name field isn't. I regard this as an oversight, as that's how it works with all the other websites I've used Zotero with, but I may be wrong.
Regarding the volume/page number, for this article, they are given at the foot of the page, in the citation:
Citation: Ettema, J., M. R. van den Broeke, E. van Meijgaard, W. J. van de Berg, J. L. Bamber, J. E. Box, and R. C. Bales (2009), Higher surface mass balance of the Greenland ice sheet revealed by high-resolution climate modeling, Geophys. Res. Lett., 36, L12501, doi:10.1029/2009GL038110.
Here, 36 is the volume number, and L12501 is the page number - AGU has used this form for several years for all its journals.
Thanks,
Ian
