General: Where is Zotero data stored on my computer ?

    I'm trying to figure out where my Zotero data is stored on my computer (Windows XP running Firefox). I work primarily on my desktop, but would like to be able to a) transfer the data to my laptop in order to work on it there and b) save it to my external hardrive.

    Thanks. I get as far as the Mozilla Firefox folder, but there isn't a subfolder named Profiles (and thus no Zotero folder). I did a search of my C drive, but no luck there either. Any suggestions?

    From the FAQ entries:

    You can locate your Zotero data by going to the Zotero preferences under the Actions (gear icon) menu and clicking “Show data directory” in the Advanced pane.

    I run Windows 2000, and I had the same problem to find it. I don't know if it could help. First, go to "parameters", click to "show hidden folders and files" (folder "Profile" is hidden by default)...
    It should be, in "Documents and settings/my_name_or_my_computer_name/application_data/mozilla/firefox/profiles/...."
    It's a mess, I know!
