Let's make a style for us all to use, based on the McGill Guide, 6th ed. -

The style I posted at http://www.slaw.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/zoteromcgill.txt handles books and articles fairly well, with the exceptions that articles display with a single quotation mark (since the doubles are an XML operator), and that the authors are first-name, last, not the reverse. -

You can generate double-quotes with """, but you probably want to use quotes="true" to get proper quotes anyway. -

Thanks Dan. I'll modify the file and re-post it. -

Some notes for improving this style:
What I have posted in the CSL tracker (https://www.zotero.org/trac/browser/csl/) at
https://www.zotero.org/trac/browser/csl/mcgill-legal.csl
is very imperfect.
At the suggestion of Bruce D'Arcus, I have created a description of some of the details of the Canadian form, and provided comparisons with the Bluebook Law Review style Bruce created at
https://www.zotero.org/trac/browser/csl/bluebook-law_review.csl
Here is a link to the cheatsheet:

@mlines: would be nice if this "cheatsheet" were HTML ;-)
And does it include specific issues that lead you to conclude the current style is "very imperfect"? -

I'm new to Zotero.... Using MS Word and the Word integration plugin how can I get this style to output footnotes instead of bracketed numbers highlighted in grey?
Thank you -

@Seeker51: you need to create a new style. See docs.
I never did look at this style, BTW. I would have if the document was more accessible (e.g. HTML). -

Unfortunately I'm not really technically inclined and so don't think that I would be able to create the style anew but does this (http://library.queensu.ca/law/lederman/legalcit.htm) include the information you would need? -

There should be a comma after the author's name, not a full stop. -

Hello,
Because of the age of the thread, I figured that active development here was stopped.
I've tried to restart the conversation in the Style Requests forum:
http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/9489/style-request-canadian-uniform-legal-citation-mcgill-guide/#Item_1
I tried to summarize the state of affairs for the style; if you have any expertise to add or can comment on any omissions I've made, please do so.
Thanks
