    If I have a 'conference paper' entry, where I set the conference proceedings title, the generated bibtex uses the 'journal' label for the proceedings title. Ie, what I get is:

    @inproceedings{brandes_graphml_2001,
    address = {Heidelberg},
    title = {GraphML Progress Report, Structural Layer Proposal},
    journal = {Graph Drawing - 9th International Symposium, GD 2001 Vienna Austria,},
    publisher = {Springer Verlag},
    author = {U. Brandes and M. Eiglsperger and I. Herman and M. Himsolt and M. S. Marshall},
    editor = {P. Mutzel and M. Junger and S. Leipert},
    year = {2001},
    keywords = {graphics,graphs,own publication,visualization},
    pages = {501-512}
    },

    I think the right label should be "booktitle"
