Library not syncing to zotero.org

680757735

Hello,
My zotero collection is not syncing after creating and using a new Group Library.
I've tried restarting FF and PC, updating FF and Java,I also installed Zotero Standalone and after trying to sync, reports same error:
[JavaScript Error: "uncaught exception: Uploaded data not well-formed (Report ID: e7de90ca70)"]

[JavaScript Error: "Uploaded data not well-formed (Report ID: e7de90ca70)" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/sync.js" line: 895}]

[JavaScript Error: "uncaught exception: Uploaded data not well-formed

I really need help with this, since I am managing a project library, and people are not being able to have access to the newly added items. I love zotero and really want to use it for this project! Please help!

Thank you for your support!
  • There's a note in your library with an embedded image, which is too big to sync and actually causing the upload process to crash. We'll try to fix it to at least return a proper error message, but you should either remove the embedded image from the note or delete the note and empty the trash.

Paste 'KWDZGSB8' (without notes) into the Zotero quick search bar to find the note in question.

(Also, once you find it, do you recall how the image ended up in the note?)
  • Thank you!
The image was indeed the problem, I removed it from collection and trash folder. That didn't fix it immediatly though, I re-installed zotero for FF and now it is syncing properly :)
I added the image myself as part of the note-taking process for the reference.
I'll avoid attaching such large images to notes in the future,
    Thank you so much!
  • (Dan: see https://github.com/zotero/zotero/issues/241 - that's why this is so common)
  • Thanks,
Very useful info. I hope we can add images to notes in the near future, specially as it is nowadays easier to take a pic of a diagram in a book using your phone than to reproduce it in a note in writing.
Thanks for such a prompt reply!
  • (you can attach images to items, of course, though I agree getting images into notes would be nice).
