Update citation style for American Society of Microbiology

From 2013 on the style for the ASM journal changes. "References should be numbered in the order of their citation in the text (the first reference mentioned would be number 1, the second would be number 2, etc.). The order of their presentation in the References list should then follow this numbering." Currently they are ordered alphabetically. Apparently this means that current submissions need to be in the new format. Is anybody working on changing the citation style? I would need it really soon and have no idea how to go about changing the file.

    I asked the production editor when manuscripts submitted to AEM should start following the new style. Will report here when she responds.

    The editor of Journal of Clinical Microbiology told me that all 2012 issues are closed, and that the new citation style should be used from now on. I assume the same holds for the other ASM journals.

    The CSL style has been updated to reflect the change.
