Can not import/install Citation style from CSL repository

Hi,
I have a problem with installing new cytation styles from the CSL repository u have online...I am a newbie regarding zotero but according to the guideline I simply have to click "install", the button beside the Journal´s name...however if i click the button a new browser window opens saying:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<style xmlns="http://purl.org/net/xbiblio/csl" class="in-text" version="1.0">
<info>
<title>Nature Immunology</title>
<id>http://www.zotero.org/styles/nature-immunology</id>;
<link href="http://www.zotero.org/styles/nature" rel="independent-parent"/>
<category citation-format="numeric"/>
<category field="biology"/>
<category field="medicine"/>

</info>
</style>

But nothing else happens..maybe u guys can help me with that..I am using the standalone version of zotero (3.0.3) on my MAC..

  • Installing styles for standalone isn't properly documented yet.

    As a general instruction, download the style as .csl and then just open it (by double-clicking) - Zotero standalone should recognize it as a style and install it.

    For style like nature-immunology - which are actually just links to other, existing styles - I'm not sure if this will work, so follow the above instructions, but for the "Nature" style (which is identical) and use that.

    @Dan - the repository needs some instructions for standalone.
  • many thanks for your quick response adam..however, right now I have no clue how to download the .csl file in order to double click it.. :-S

    sry for the circumstances

    if you just right-click on the style name (not the install) on the repository and select "save link as" that should do it.
  • seems to work now..many thanks adam!!!

    cheers

  • Worked for me after I downloaded and saved the .csl files into the style folder of zotero. You will need to restart zotero to see the new styles in the list.
    To download the .csl file, right click on it and select "save as".

  • I must say - I've standalone for mac - my computer said:
    "You cannot save this document with extension “.csl” at the end of the name. The required extension is “.xml”. You can choose to use both, so that your file name ends in “.csl.xml”."
    So i saved the file in zotero styles folder and then i had to delete the ".xml" extension.
    I restarted zotero and it worked.
  • Did all the steps above (I also have standalone for mac), but I can't find the Zotero styles folder. When I go to preferences, impossible to save anything in the styles, the name of my file remains grey.

    The filename needs to end in .csl. Depending on your OS X settings and what program you saved it from, it might have some other extension (e.g., .txt) that's hidden by the OS.

    A .csl file should also open automatically in Standalone if you try to open it (e.g., by double-clicking).
