no reference list when I add citations

I am working in LibreOffice and using APA 6th edition style. I am able to insert citations correctly, but they do not generate any kind of reference list at the end of the document. Are they supposed to? Am I doing it wrong?
When I try to insert a bibliography, I get a message saying that the current style does not define a bibliography.
Not sure what to try next...

    that's how to get the reference list. If it's not working something is broken. Start by just re-installing the citation style from the repository at zotero.org/styles
