Controlling permitted tags for a group?

I'm trying to assist a group of researchers who are creating a collaborative bibliography in Zotero. Because the bibliography will be published online, they're very concerned that it be indexed and categorized by a specific set of keywords. They're concerned that individual collaborators will unintentionally tag entries with variants of tags. Is there any way to limit tags to a particular set?

    Not really, but it the tag autocomplete should help. In addition to watching manually, a slightly computer(-programming)-proficient person could use the Zotero API to write a script/website that keeps an eye on the tags in use and flags variant tags.
