Cannot get automatic attachment of .pdfs to work

I am frequently on sites like SpringerLink for example: http://www.springerlink.com/content/0039-7857/?k=lawless

When I click on an article and save the reference to Zotero, it will not download the .pdf automatically, despite having the option checked in the settings. If I click and drag the file link down to reference in the Zotero window, it will SOMETIMES attach it to the reference.

What is going wrong?
  • Greg, the site-specific translator for SpringerLink is currently broken. Zotero is extracting data using the generic DOI translator. For a fuller explanation, see Dan Stillman's answer here: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/14446/error-591700001-trouble-autodling-pdfs/

In plain English, pdfs auto-downloading won't work on SpringerLink until someone has time to fix the translator for that particular site. In the meantime you'll have to create a bibliographic record and then drag the pdf into the record manually.

Are you having problems with any other sites? Try JSTOR, where auto-downloading is working fine as of five minutes ago.
