connotea

i like to browse pubmed and add articles to connotea with tags; what i really miss is the ability to see a long list of pubmed articles and then know which ones i have already tagged.

i can see myself similarly wanting to add to zotero, perhaps occasionally synchronizing my zotero database with my connotea database. but i woudl first want to be able to see the tags i have already entered while browsing pubmed.

i am willing to learn the programming tools required to accomplish this, but so far, i was stymied by my (mis)understanding that javascript did not allow communication with disk based databases. now zotero seems to have a disk based database that can be accessed via firefox; so presumably it should be possible to parse a page of search results, compare the article ids (or something) to the zotero database and then color the search results acccording to whether they are already in the database or not.. or more (show the tags, allow tag modification directly from the page, etc).

i have the enthusiasm, and the programming knowledge to do this, if not knowledge of the specific tools required to achieve this. but i am willing to learn.

of course, if this would be part of the zotero team's plans, then of course, that would be much better !!! :)

thanks !!!
