Website-Specific Snapshots Cannot be Located

Error ID:
1503082027

I am running a fresh install of Firefox; I downloaded it specifically to use with Zotero. I went to an article on nytimes.com and clicked the icon to create an article from the page. I then attempted to view the snapshot and was greeted with the error: "The attached file cannot be found. It may have been moved or deleted outisde of Zotero". Oddly enough, this only seems to happen on nytimes.com; all others I have tested appear normal. Below I listed what I have tried so far.

Steps I have already taken:
Reinstall Zotero
Install Zotero Dev
Create my own snapshot independently of the auto-generated one
Test on other websites (Google & Reuters)

Can anyone else duplicate this?
  • You'd have to provide an example URL for us to be able to tell you that.
  • Just picked a random article from the front page of New York Times

    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/12/world/asia/12afghan.html
  • Works for me. (Though, as a side note, are you clicking Create New Item from Current Page or are you using the address bar icon? Zotero has a site translator for nytimes.com, so you should be clicking the address bar icon. Shouldn't make a difference in terms of the snapshot, though, just the metadata quality.)

    1) Try disabling JavaScript in the Content pane of the Firefox prefs. Does that help?

    2) Disable auto-sync in the Sync pane of the Zotero prefs, restart Firefox, save from that page, and provide another Report ID.
  • Didn't see the item in the address bar, but same result nonetheless. It is interesting to note, however, that the popup in the bottom-right corner of the screen looked as if it was taking longer to download the page than when I simply click the icon in the Zotero window.

    Disabled JavaScript without results.

Followed your instructions to disable auto-sync, restart Firefox, save, and attempt to view. However, under the 'gear' menu, "Report Errors.." wasn't highlighted, so I generated a debug output log via the "Advanced" tab in the options menu. Hope this is what you're looking for: D86953330

Thanks so much for trying to help me with this; it's greatly appreciated.
  • What files do you see in the storage/935UC2I3 directory within your Zotero data directory? There should be a 12afghan.html file, but it's not being found.
  • Actually, there isn't one. There is, however an "12afghan_1.html" file. However, that isn't it, either. It appears to be some sort of an advertisement from the site. Here it is if you want to look:
