I would find an OPML export report quite useful. What I imagine is a report where all selected references are exported with the top-level(s) as a full citation and notes as children. Perhaps attachments could be ignored. This would allow a much easier way to get Zotero data into an outliner to begin working with. As it stands, Zotero is a great place to store notes and references, but not a great spot to work with them.

I can't help pointing out that OPML is a really horrible language, and shows little sign of any improvement in v2 (it's author seems neither to understand XML, nor to care). This doesn't necessarily mean Zotero shouldn't export it, but I wouldn't waste much effort on it given other priorities.

As an alternative, it ought to be relatively easy to just write an XSLT to convert the XHTML report output format to OPML.

Point taken. That, I am simply looking for a quick and dirty method to better integrate Zotero into my current workflow without having to think too much about it. And OPML is a bit of a lingua franca in the outliner world. I've just taken a closer look at the XHTML report code, and was interested to see that ID Nos. are used in the notes and links. I expect that it would not be too hard to write a translator to have this imported to Tinderbox on the Mac with the related links intact.
