Fail to Sync: version 2.0.2
Debug ID: D500149458
This is my second day trying to sync. I left the Zotero running all night, and nothing. The sync button just spins and spins, with the message "Getting updated data from sync server." This is strange because I have nothing on the sync server yet?
I bought 5gb of Zotero Storage, but for now I'm just trying to sync data, not files. I am using Firefox 3.6. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure why it would still say "Getting updated data from sync server", but that would be incorrect. How did you start the sync?
I started the sync manually.
Now I'm getting the message: "Upload accepted - waiting for sync server"
Now that I have a queued upload, what do I do? Can I close Zotero or should I just wait for it to go through with Zotero running? I got the same "upload accepted.." message yesterday and when I checked this morning, the upload still hadn't gone through? How long will this take?
Thanks
Your other thread (which I deleted—please don't double-post for the same issue) noted that you received a name-too-long error, corrected it, and received it again.
First, if you deleted the item in question, be sure to empty the trash, or else it still exists and you'll continue to get the error.
Second, what's likely happening for you is that, since you've been getting an error, you haven't been benefiting from the fact that the Zotero queue clears every night and any queued uploads are processed even if the user has closed Firefox. Your uploads are in fact getting processed, but if you've closed Firefox you haven't seen the errors and have simply tried again.
We've adjusted upload prioritization so that large syncs should generally be processed within a couple hours at all but the busiest times. What we'll also soon be doing, which will help in cases like yours, is checking queued uploads for errors even while they're still queued so that users don't need to wait hours just to see errors that need to be corrected.
And finally, we have some major improvements planned to speed up syncing significantly.
