Book Section - repeated footnotes

I am new to Zotero, and I am having trouble with the Book Section entries. I'm using Chicago style, note with bibliography. I have several bibliography items that are essays in edited books. When I first ask Zotero to enter one of the essays in a footnote, the footnote is formatted properly. However, when I cite the source the second time, Zotero lists the title of the edited book rather than the title of the essay. Is there a way to fix this?

e.g. footnote 1 reads:
Author, "article," _Book_, ed. (publication info), pg.
footnote 2 reads:
Author, "Book," pg.

I would like footnote 2 to read:
Author, "article," pg.

    hmm - I can't confirm that - Zotero does that correctly for me (and since this would come up pretty frequently, I assume for other people as well).

    Which style precisely are you using? Chicago Note with Bibliography wouldn't ever give you the full citation - that would have to be Chicago Full Note with Bibliography.

    Also, how did you enter the information on the essay/book section in Zotero. And which Zotero version?

    Sorry. It is Chicago Full Note with Bibliography.

    In the entry, I have the entry marked book section, the title of the article is entered under title, that is followed by the two editors and the author. The title of the book is listed under book title. I *think* I have Zotero 1.0. I know I need to upgrade, but I want to finish the project I am working on first.

    I am using the tools under "add ins" in MS Word 2007 on a Windows 7 OS.

    It does occur to me that I have had to edit these entries a couple of times, and at one point I had them marked as books rather than book sections. Do you think that might be the problem? Should I delete the entries and re-enter them?

    OK - all looks right to me.
    I can't test this for 1.0 but it shouldn't make a difference.
    In theory changing the item type back and forth shouldn't make a difference and it would be bad if it did - but it's worth giving it a try and deleting one of the entries, replacing it by a "fresh" one.
    In the advanced tab of the Zotero preferences you should have a button "check database integrity" - could you give that a try?

    Thanks! I think the problem has been solved. I did check the database integrity, and got a message that all was well - no errors found. I then deleted and re-entered one of the offending entries. Unfortunately, deleting the entry meant that I had to re-do all of the footnotes using that entry in word; it started highlighting things and telling me the entry no longer existed. Luckily, at this early point in my writing it was the work of five minutes to update everything.

    I'm not sure what happened, but I suspect that somewhere in my editing the entry it got confused about whether I was dealing with a book or a book section. This was probably a one-off problem.
