Add Item is not highlighted in list; must search to annote

I have a fairly large Zotero library. In version 1, when I added a new item (in whatever way), Zotero highlighted it in the middle pane, so that I could work on tags, related, notes, etc. Now, I add a new item, and have to go look for it to do all that.

How are you adding these items? When I add anything through the button on the Zotero toolbar, or through the context menu, it is highlighted when it is added. I believe I have seen what you are talking about before, but I can't seem to reproduce it now.

Zotero won't currently focus new items if a sync is ongoing.

I think Dan's observation explains this. :( Zotero seems to be synching all the time.

I am adding items either through the URL bar or one of the Zotero buttons, depending on the way the web page is set up.

& forgot to include, Mac OS 10.5.8, Firefox 3.5.7
