Firefox crash with OOO plugin

I've read and tried several solutions to the problem that on my Mac (Snow Leopard, 10.6.2) Firefox crashes after I hit a button in the Openoffice (3.1.1) plugin toolbar.
I use Zotero 2.0rc2 and the latest plugin version 3.0a6.
I am not sure when it started, but I think it was after the Snow Leopard update.
At the university office I use a Windows XP laptop also, there all works fine.

    This might be a crash with PythonExt under Fx3.6 that we're aware of, but a full crash report would be helpful. Go to about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and look for the relevant crash. Click through to generate a report on mozilla.org for it and post the URL here (or, if it contains any information you'd rather not share publicly, e-mail it to support@zot....org with a link to this thread).

    You can also try the official alpha PythonExt version for Firefox 3.6.

    The associated Mozilla tickets seem to suggest that this is a bug in Apple's version of Java.

    But it'd help to know what version of Java you're using. Load http://www.javatester.org/version.html and let us know what version appears in the pink box.

    On entering the Javatester website, FF crashes, so that's not the way to find out my java versions.
    In the Javaproperties I found that I have JAVA SE 6 (64 and 32 bit) on the top of the browser's list, and J2SE 5 (64 and 32) on the bottom of it.
    I don't know if that helps

    If Firefox is crashing on that page, it would seem you have a more fundamental problem with your Java (and/or Firefox) installation. Figure that out, and the Zotero plugin should work.

    Unabling JAVA 5 versions in the Java properties made it work again. The testerpage didn't cause a crash anymore.
