Adapting zotero interface

Hi,

I am working on a firefox plugin for making annotations to web pages and documents and I would like to reuse the zotero interface and some funcionalities like highlighting text or showing the items information. I have been looking to the code but I am a bit lost with this task so i dont know exactly how to start.

Can anybody show me an example of zotero interface reuitilization? How can I do it?
